1. Data provided by users. This information includes:
- Account information: We collect data when users create or update their accounts or place an order. This data includes first and last name, e-mail address, phone number, login name and password, address, profile photo, payment method, user settings information.
For drivers, this data includes vehicle or insurance information, emergency contact information, and evidence that they are fit and healthy to provide services using EOS applications.
- Demographic data: We collect demographic data such as date of birth/age, gender or occupation when necessary to enable certain features or provide access to age-restricted products or services.
- User content: We collect data (including chat logs and call logs) when users use features that allow them to upload content or send messages (in-app messaging and feedback system) or otherwise communicate with EOS.
2. Data generated when you use our services. This information includes:
- Location data (drivers): We collect precise or approximate location data from drivers' mobile devices when the EOS Driver app is running in the foreground (app open and on screen) or in the background (app open but not on screen).
- Location data (passengers): We collect precise or approximate location information from passengers' mobile devices if they allow us to do so through their device settings.
EOS apps collect this data from the time the ride is requested until it is completed and whenever the app is running in the foreground (app open and on screen). (See the “Choice and transparency” section below to learn about how travelers and order takers can opt in to the collection of precise location data.)
Passengers can also use EOS apps without enabling precise location data collection from their mobile devices. However, this may affect some features in EOS apps. For example, passengers who do not enable precise location data must enter their own pickup address.
Additionally, precise location data collected from the driver's device during the trip is associated with the passenger's account, even if the passenger has not enabled precise location data collection from their device. This data is used for purposes such as customer support, fraud detection, insurance, litigation and receipt generation. - Transaction information: Information about our services, including the type of services requested or provided, trip or order information (such as date and time, requested pickup and drop-off addresses, distance traveled, animal transportation), and information regarding the payment transaction (such as amount paid and payment method). We collect transaction information regarding your usage. We also associate a user's name with the names of people who used that user's promotional code.
- Usage data: We collect data about users' interactions with our services. This data may include access dates and times, application features or pages viewed, browser type, application crash, and other system events.
- Device data: We collect information about the devices you use to access our services, including hardware model, device IP address or other unique device identifiers, operating system and version, software, language preference, advertising identifiers, device movement and mobile network data.

- Matching available drivers with users requesting service based on personal data such as location and proximity to other users, as well as non-personal data such as user settings/preferences (such as preferred destinations) and type of vehicle summoned.
- Calculating prices and fees using methods that include using location data and trip or order information (such as requested pickup and drop-off addresses) . We may also take into account non-personal data or factors such as date and time, estimated distance and time, minimum base charges, bridge and highway tolls, taxes and fees, and dynamic pricing .
- Process payments
- Personalizing user accounts.
- Provide users with trip updates, generate receipts, and notify users about changes to our terms and conditions, services, or policies.
- Take actions necessary to maintain our services, including resolving software bugs and operational issues.
2. Security, fraud protection and security. We use data to protect the safety, security and integrity of our services and users. This information includes:
- Verifying users' accounts and their compliance with security requirements.
- Using customer service information (including safety incident reports), device data (e.g. to detect speeding or hard braking/accelerating), transaction and usage data to detect potentially unsafe driver and vehicle operation. This may result in drivers receiving messages encouraging safer driving and/or their accounts being disabled following expert review.
- Using account, device, location, usage, transaction, wireless carrier data, and other data, including communications between users and metadata, to prevent, detect, and combat fraud.
- Use reported incidents, user ratings* and other feedback to encourage safe use of the EOS Apps in accordance with our terms and conditions and as justification for disabling users with low ratings.
- To predict and help prevent user matches that may result in increased risk of conflict, we collect driver data (such as historical trip information and reported incident rates) and passenger data (such as account information, cancellation and reported incident rates, current pick-up and drop-off location, * We also block matches where one user has previously given the other a low (e.g. one-star) rating.
- Using location, phone number, username, vehicle information and other relevant information to provide live support from security experts during trips .
The fraud and unsafe vehicle usage prevention and detection activities described above may be considered profiling under applicable law and may result in the deactivation of users (usually only after expert review). EOS performs the above activities when necessary to fulfill the terms of its agreements with users and/or in the legitimate security interests of EOS, our users and members of the general public.
3. Customer support. We use the information we collect (which may include call logs, in-app message logs, and dashcam footage) to provide customer support services, including to investigate and address user concerns and to monitor and improve our customer support responses and processes.
EOS carries out the above activities in order to fulfill the terms and conditions of its agreements with users or on the grounds that it is necessary for EOS's legitimate interests in monitoring and improving customer support services.
4. Research and development. We use data for analysis, product development, research and testing. This helps us make our services more convenient and easier to use, improve the security and safety of our services, and develop new services and features.

We use account, approximate location, device and usage data, and travel and order history to provide personalized advertising and marketing communications, particularly based on users' observed or estimated location, interests and characteristics (which may include gender prediction).
This includes using this data for the following purposes:
- Send emails, texts, push notifications and in-app messages or other communications that market or promote EOS products, services, features, offers, promotions, sweepstakes, news and events. For example, it can send push notifications that recommend the user's favorite destinations.
- Showing EOS ads on third-party apps or websites.
- Displaying third-party advertising on EOS applications or in connection with our services.

1. Device permissions
Most mobile device platforms (iOS, Android, etc.) have defined certain device data that apps cannot access without the permission of the device owner, and these platforms have different methods for how to obtain this permission. After each ride, passengers can give drivers a score between 1 and 5. The average of these ratings is associated with the drivers' account and shared with other users they serve.
Passengers can view the scores they gave to drivers from their previous trips in the Rides section of the EOS Taxi application.
Drivers can see their average scores in the Rides section in the EOS Driver application.
3. User data requests
EOS offers users a variety of ways to obtain information, exercise control, and submit questions and comments about EOS's use of user data. In addition to the methods listed below, users may also submit data requests through our Contact Form on our website.
- Data access and portability: Depending on their location, users may have the right to “access” their data (i.e., be informed of the data EOS has collected about them) and “portability” of their data (i.e., receive a copy of that data).
